Once DJ Brother Music, now a Deacon Cheatham!
I want to share my Dad's testimony. I am sharing this to give HOPE to another. He once struggled with having an addiction, but the love of his family, prayer and God got him through it. God can do the impossible, but are you strong enough to allow God to do the impossible in your life. My family has been able to say yes.
My Dad is Deacon Lionel C. Cheatham, who trained and ordained under the late Pastor Leo Hughey Jr.Lionel Christopher Cheatham born on March 9, 1948, he is the oldest child of Dorthy Cheatham and William Cheatham. Has always been admired by many because of his athletic ability. In his youth, he participated in almost every sport as he wrestled. He played football, basketball, and ran track. He was so fast that he was given the nickname choo choo as some would say that he was fast as a choo choo train. He was introduced into Elmira Free Academies hall of fame because of his athletic ability, and his plaque is currently displayed at the Arnot Mall.
After high school, he attended Brockport College for a brief period of time, then he focused his sites on the music industry. He is a father, brother, and uncle to many, but a was a well known party goer, and he enjoyed marijuana and other drugs. It impacted him negatively. He started to sell his music equipment and lost his temper on more than one occasion, but God.
He was able to redeem self with God and his family. Lionel has many achievements, He worked and retired from the City of Elmira. He was a single parent for a period of time. his children continue to rotate in/out of his care/home. Now, He is a beloved husband, dedicated father of his children, a grandfather and great grandfather, as well as uncle, great uncle and great, great uncle. Also, Most importantly a Man of God.
