Antimicrobial: Rice & honey both are Antimicrobial, while some foods have antimicrobial properties.

Recipe: Suggestion:

Cook rice as instructed on the package, once it is done add honey.

Antimicrobial: are substances that kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. They are used to treat and prevent infections caused by these microorganisms.

Examples of antimicrobials include some:

  • Antibiotics: Used to treat bacterial infections

  • Antivirals: Used to treat viral infections

  • Antifungals: Used to treat fungal infections

  • Antiparasitics: Used to treat parasitic infections

Our results support that the rice husk has antimicrobial and antibiofilm properties and could potentially be used in the future in topical solutions or on medical devices to prevent biofilm formation.

Foods with antimicrobial properties

  • Garlic

  • A well-known natural antibiotic that has been used in many cultures for its health benefits

  • Honey

  • An ancient antibiotic that has antimicrobial properties and can help heal wounds

  • Onions

  • Onion skin contains phenolic and antimicrobial components

  • Fruits

  • Extracts from citrus, berries, and pomegranates have antimicrobial properties

  • Turmeric

  • Contains curcumin, which has antimicrobial properties

  • Cranberry extracts

  • Contain antibacterial and antioxidant compounds

  • Herbs and spices

  • Oregano, parsley, sage, coriander, rosemary, lemongrass, cinnamon, and clove have antimicrobial properties

  • Yogurt

  • Contains bacterial peptides that have antimicrobial properties.

Batavia and Karen "what paprika! Ginger and grapes can help lung disease", since when??? "Oh, Girl you have to read the blog" said Paprika.

  Girl, it’s Paprika!

with info about Food to help the lungs...

Let me tell you about the power of Ginger and Grapes BUT!!!

Grapes can raise your sugar level, so please be careful. Also, Small children have

been known to choke on grapes, so cut them in half!

Grapes and Ginger: are good to treat pneumonia, asthma, sleep apnea syndrome (SA), interstitial pneumonia (IP), lung cancer, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

A small amount will do, 3 to 5 grapes

How?  Ginger ( Zingiber officinale ) Prevents severe damage to the lungs due to hyperoxia and inflammation, plus its antioxidants.

And eating grapes ( which include phytochemicals and vitamin D) prevents the

progress of lung diseases  such as pneumonia, asthma, sleep apnea syndrome (SA),

interstitial pneumonia (IP),

lung cancer, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Individual anthocyanin composition of grape skin extracts was analyzed by HPLC, whereas total antioxidant activity was evaluated by two methods: DPPH and ABTS. In general, a high variability was found among the different autochthonous and non-autochthonous grape varieties in relation to the polyphenolic compounds analyzed, especially the individual anthocyanins.
