Diabetes also known as “the sugar”

Diabetes also known as “the sugar”!

Hello..Hola.Shalom!

We are SuGar!

Hyperglycemia (High Blood Sugar)

Diabetes is characterized by a failure to secrete enough insulin.

Insulin is a hormone produced in the pancreas. It is needed by the

body to convert glucose into energy. Without adequate insulin,

abnormally high levels of glucose accumulate in the blood.

A diabetes emergency can occur when a person's blood sugar levels

are too high or too low. This can be life-threatening and may require

immediate medical attention.

  • Symptoms include ketones in the urine, which may smell like cheap wine or fruit.

  • Treatment for High Blood sugar levels only:  seeking immediate medical

  • attention is important. also following doctor orders ie using a

  • sliding scale properly.

  • Alternative Medicine includes increasing

  • water intake, if you can do so safely, for people who are not on water restriction.

  • Also, take cinnamon or clove, if you are not allergic or have dementia.

  • Clove is not recommended for individuals with dementia.

  • If you can do so safely increase water intake, increase exercise and

  • take cinnamon and clove,, should bring your sugar level low and to a stable level.

Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar)

Hypoglycemia is characterized by a blood sugar (glucose)

level that is too low to fuel the body’s normal functioning.

Hypoglycemia may be a condition by itself, a complication of

diabetes or a sign of another disorder.

A diabetes emergency can occur when a person's blood sugar levels

are too high or too low. This can be life-threatening and may require

immediate medical attention.

Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)

  • Symptoms include clammy skin, sweating, confusion,

  • drowsiness, and fainting

  • Treatment includes eating 15 grams of fast-acting carbohydrates,

  • such as fruit juice, soda, or glucose tablets.

  • Repeat the treatment every 15 minutes until blood sugar levels return to no

Problems with blood sugar regulation due to diabetes can cause:

Symptoms of Diabetes:

Headaches

  • Increased thirst

  • Frequent urination

  • Increased appetite

  • Weight loss

  • Blurred vision

  • Fatigue

  • Dry mouth

Danger of Diabetes:

complications, such as eye problems, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease

and neuropathy (damage to the nerves).

Also, be aware that Cinnamaldehyde, the compound that gives cinnamon its signature scent and flavour, can, according to researchers, activate certain enzymes in the liver that speed up the breakdown of specific medications in the body. That means some of your meds could get flushed out before they even have a chance to work. Just a suggestion, take your medication in a 2 hour window before taking cinnamon.
